Personality: Ally is a very shy, reserved, and somewhat mature for her age girl. She tends to keep to herself, enjoying her private thoughts... Unless she catches someone breaking the rules when she's working in her father's music store. She's certainly not afraid to point this out and try to put a stop to it. Some people view her as bossy because of this, but really, she's just trying to do her job.
Ally is a fairly nervous girl who tends to stress easily. Though she's not really spasmodic in these situations, she does obsess over the problems. (And sometimes chews her hair when nervous.) The biggest cause of anxiety for Ally is public performance. Though it's yet to be revealed what triggered her stage fright, it has been established that she didn't always have it, and is comfortable enough dealing with people that she can work alone in her father's music store. However, given certain canon instances, it seems safe to assume that something like speaking before her class would be difficult for her, as well.
Of course, Ally has her strengths, as well. She's level-headed in normal situations when most other fifteen year old girls wouldn't be, and she's both bright and creative. She's an excellent songwriter (Or, well, so they say in canon. One must keep in mind the context of 'these are songs Disney is hoping to sell to preteens'.) and an even better friend, always there for her pals no matter how ridiculous they're being.
In a good mood, Ally is very mellow and enjoys cloud-watching, sitting in parks or by lakes, and feeding water fowl. She also has a strange fondness for pickles, to the point where it's her first answer when she's asked what sort of things she likes. She's capable of having fun, but mostly in her own way. Her attempts to be what teens consider 'cool' tend to just be awkward.
Ally is very protective of her secrets, which she writes in her diary-slash-song-writting-book. She's also not the type of girl to talk about herself much in general, especially on more personal topics. She has no intention of telling her friend about a crush she has in one episode, and in another episode she declines sharing what started her stage fright with Austin.
